Nature's Table

Date: 10/04/1990

Well I know you've been hurting, baby
And I know things have not been the best
Your friends have all left you lonely
And your fortune is gone
But I know of a place you can run to
To hide from the world
To drive away all your fears
And bring back the best of years

Just lay yourself down on the table
The table of nature
And feel all the beauty around you
You're safe and secure
Forget all your worries, baby
'Cause I'm here for you now
Just lay yourself down on nature's table
When trouble in on your shoulders
And you don't think that you can survive
Just wait 'til the night has fallen
And run away with me

Just lay yourself down on the table
The table of nature
And listen to what the wind
Whispers in your ear
It tells you to fall asleep
And dream of a world of peace
Just lay yourself down on nature's table

an acoustic guitar song, inspired by an old bar that used to be on Goodwin St. in Urbana. It was a unique place, and my friends and I used to go there to see everything from reggae bands to jazz and acoustic folk. The title got stuck somewhere in the back of my mind I guess. This was recorded on an old tape, Mercurial: songs from my living room.
