One Last Ride
Date: 08/05/1995
Time is flying byLike birds across a darkened sky
Clouds moving in
To cover up the sunrise
And I know, and I know
I've got to face the truth
That you'll be leaving soon
And I know you know the end is near
And though we had our troubles
Our precious time
Will always stay strong in my mind
So put away your sad face for a while
Give me one more smile and we'll be free
We'll go on one last rideLife is like a ride
Through the desert dawn
Trying to catch the memories
Before they're gone
As time flies by on our one last ride
On a highway of hopes and dreams
And nobody knows
What the future holds for you and me
You could wish upon a shooting star tonight
And don't you know in the end
That things will work out right
'Cause all the things we shared
In our special time
Will always stay strong in my mind
So put away your sad face for a while
Give me one more smile and we'll be free
We'll go on one last ride
Through the desert dawn
Trying to catch the memories
Before they're gone
As time flies by on our one last rideJust one last ride
Through the desert dawn
Trying to hold the memories
Before they're gone
As time flies by on our one last ride
the original version and one of the most popular Blue Audio songs from back in the day, check out "One Last Ride (cathedral mix)" for a remixed version. The original version was released on the album, One, and is also available on the Uncovered CD, the compilation A Reflexion of Synthpop, Vol. 2, and an old mix tape called Spinning Out of the Blue. On the Reflexion compilation, the title in English was "One Last Ride (breath of fresh air mix)" because one of the synth patches (on a Korg 01/W) is called "Fresh Air". The German translation (and subsequent re-translation) led to the printing of the title as "One Last Ride (Breath-To-Fresh-Air-Mix)".
