I'll Take You Away
Date: 06/20/1997
Fly like the bird, high as a kiteWatching the world, passing you by
Racing the wind, running to hide
Looking beyond, over the edge
Turning away, facing the wind
Rising above, freeing your mind
Filling your heart, healing the soul
Here in my arms, wait for the day
Smile at the sky, I'll take you away
Flying so high, an eye in the sky
Strong as can be, never be seen
Never to know, who you could be
(I'll take you away)
Flying like the birds
Soaring through the sky
Taking every breath from an angel's sigh
It seems like we could never miss
But pride can break your fall
Now you're sheltered from the wind and cold
Hording all our prizes
Won without a fight
'Cause you settled for the 9 to 5
Happy happy hour suck the life
Straight out from you
Take a dive into the deepest blue
And soar above the clouds again
Stand up, face the wind
And take my hand
Together we will fly again
Flying through the sky
Fly like the bird, high as a kiteYou work, you toil
Racing the wind, running to hide
Looking beyond, over the edge
Turning away, facing the wind
Rising above, freeing your mind
Filling your heart, healing the soul
Here in my arms, wait for the day
Smile at the sky, I'll take you away
You slave, you grind
You wish, you want
You hope, you dream
You work, you toil
You slave, you grind
You wish, you want
You hope, you dream
And I know what you're dreaming of today
And I know I can take you far away
Take a dive into the deepest blue
And soar above the clouds again
Stand up, face the wind
And take my hand
Together we will fly again
Flying through the sky
Fly like the bird, high as a kite
Racing the wind, running to hide
Looking beyond, over the edge
Turning away, facing the wind
Rising above, freeing your mind
Filling your heart, healing the soul
Here in my arms, wait for the day
Smile at the sky, I'll take you away
one of my favorite tracks to start off a live show, because the beat comes in nice and loud on a good sound system. I've mixed this song into a few others before, including my remixes of "There is a Light" by the Smiths, and "One Tree Hill" by U2. There's a nice break in this track for DJ's. The original version is on the album, One, and also on the mp3.com CD, Uncovered, and it was released in Japan on a multimedia CD-ROM through Windows 100%.
